If you could hit the “pause button” on the voice of fear, shame, anger, or addiction, what would you hear instead? Is it a desire to be loved and accepted for who you really are? Is it hope for a more fulfilling life with joy, rest, purpose, or creativity? Is it faith to believe that you can finally stop beating yourself up, make peace with your past, and make different decisions going forward? You’d be amazed how many people like you and me, have bravely faced their biggest questions in therapy, and found meaningful answers. Let’s see if that can be your story too!
I work with individuals and groups hoping to find direction for their mental health, relationships, career goals, and life transitions. I have experience helping people cope and recover from conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, compulsive sexual addictions, substance abuse, grief, and family and religious trauma. As a former pastor, I’ve also had the beautiful privilege of coming alongside both ministry leaders who are struggling with church hurt, as well as doubters, deconstructionists, and prodigals experiencing a faith crisis. As a frequent speaker on LGBTQ+ self-acceptance and inclusion in the church, I’m honored when I get to work with fellow members of the community looking for an empathetic and judgement-free space.
A little more about me? When I am not doing all the therapy stuff, I am probably still spending time with people! I love living in San Diego with my chosen family in what we affectionately call "The Monastery." I believe that nothing is more healing than true connection with someone who really "gets me," so I love having friends over for game nights, dinners, geeking out about the Enneagram (I’m a 4), and brainstorming fun creative ideas that may or may not ever happen. I was a songwriter and my brain is constantly connecting things that people say with lyrics, so you might hear me randomly break into song during a session. I believe we find our greatest purpose in the center of our pain, and I will probably get super excited when you do too.
